Der Blick von der Wahweap Marina in Richtung Antelope Island ist vor allem während eines Gewitters imposant. Im Jahr 2013 fiel das amerikanische Monsunsystem besonders stark aus, weshalb sämtliche weltbekannte Slot Canyons der Region überflutet und gesperrt waren. Doch wolkenbruchartige Regenfälle inmitten der Wüste Arizonas haben auch was für sich und entschädigten die abgesagte Tour in die Antelope Canyons mit tollen Lichtstimmungen.
The view from the Wahweap Marina towards Antelope Island is impressive, especially during a thunderstorm. In 2013, the American monsoon system was particularly strong, which is why all the world famous slot canyons in this region were flooded and closed. But torrential rains in the desert of Arizona have something for themselves and indemnified the canceled tour into the Antelope canyons with great lighting effects.
